Dedication
To the author, director and actor Burgess Meredith, who has given unstintingly of his time, energy and wise counsel at critical times in our dyad. His professional advice has furnished us with a realistic context for our rather unconventional forays into experiments into transforms of the conventional media of communication of mood, of ideas, and of the "inexpressible" content of mystical experience. His own inner experiences of these domains and his representations of them have aided us in expressing our domains to others. Sharing his performances with us (Ulysses in Night Town, both the original off-Broadway and the recent Broadway productions, as director; The Little Foxes, as actor; his autobiography, as author), he has exemplified a model of talent and professional competence that has given us new insights into the how of communicating deep human experience through the theater, the motion picture and the written word.

I tell you, as long as l can conceive something better than myself I cannot be easy unless 1 am striving to bring it into existence or clearing the way for it. This is the law of my life. That is the working within me of Life's incessant aspiration to higher organization, wider, deeper, intenser self-consciousness and clearer self-understanding.
